Powrót do tematu ssania

Witam wszystkich!

No i się dowiedziałem :)

Namawia natomiast do odłączenia ssania! :) (cyt. "I refuse to tell you how to adjust it, but i will tell you how to make it not work").

Pełny fragment z książki ("How to keep your Volkswagen Alive. A manual of step by step procedures for the Compleat Idiot" by John Muir):

"ABOUT CHOKES"

The amount you pay for your choke, especially the automatic choke, would astound you. I tore the whole choke assembly out of my carburetor before I put it on the car. No chokes for me. I pump a little raw gas in the manifold to get it started, then i let it idle until it's warm. That richer mixture in the morning or any time allows you to take off quicker - and smoother - but you pay, brothers and sisters. You pay in wear in your engine sooner than quicker. OK, I'll stop, but I really feel you've been sold the biggest item of built-ibn obsolescence possible: the automatic choke. As I roll my own cigarettes, so the warmup time gives me leisure to roll one with no rush and hurry. By the time the cigarette is drawing good, the engine is warm.

Automatic Choke Disarmament: Because of my reactionary position on the automatic choke, I refuse to tell you how to adjust it, but I will tell you how to make it not work. Do you suppose this is being an activistic reactionary? Find the automatic choke. It's the round thing in the upper right-hand of the carburetor. There is a wire coming to it; disconnect the wire and tape it so it won't ground on the engine. Look at the choke. It's a ceramic thiing with a heat element in it held in position by a ring clamp and three screws (so it can be adjusted, which it has to be four times a year or it tends to over-rich your fuel and further ruin your engine's lubrication - they didn't tell you that?). Loosen these three screws and you hold its life in your hands. Turn the ceramic element so that it opens the butterfly valve in the top of the barburetor, turn it the other way and you'll see the valve start to close, just to get your direction right. Turn this ceramic so it opens the butterfly and the all the way in the same direction, as far as it will go- now clamp it down with the three screws and you have disarmed the mother. However - you can disarm and arm the auto-choke at your will. In winter, if the car starts hard, rearm! Check to make sure th wire from the ignition switch is connected to the choke, then remove the air cleaner (or air cleaner hose), push the throttle lever down to free the little step arm on the left side, loosen the three screws that hold the ceramic element and turn the ceramic element until the choke butterfly closes, barely. Start the engine and see if the butterfly opens after the engine warms; if it doesn't, readjust. Come sprin - Disarm! By the way, the choke can appear on either side of the carb.
On the opposite side of the carburetor there is a swinging arm with teeth in it that presents various faces to the idle screw to make for a fast idle. In fact, it's called the fast idle cam. Now that you've disarmed the choke, you must tie this down so you can get a steady idle. A heavy rubber band around the fuel line slipped over the top of the fast idle cam will hold it back or a piece of wire, whatever. You don't want it engaged at all.

Z drugiej strony, w innych gaznikach bez ssania da sie obejsc. Ale seryjnego Garbusa zostawilbym w spokoju, bo dobrze dziala.

Też bym nie odłączał - klimat u nas jest dość skomplikowany, latem też moga zdarzyc sie wahania temperatury - a tak na dobrą sprawe - to ile sie zaoszczedzi odpinajac to ssanie...
