As we all know from Dabtuner's dyno results and 1/4 mile times, 150hp is all that is needed to run 13s. From experience, I would say that 130hp is all that is needed in a car that is a bit lighter than Dabs with a better launch.
The problem with all the powerful engines in Poland at the moment is that they are expensive. All these big engines (over 1914) will cost over 20,000zl.
What I would like to suggest is a 1776-1914cc engine that makes 150hp and will cost a maximum of 10,000zl. This engine will use many standard parts and have a pair of 40mm carbs (because they are easily available and still relatively cheap). We will keep track of all expenses at retail prices.
Jas and I would like to develop a 1914(the same parts would apply to a 1776) that makes 150hp.
I would like some feedback from you all, if this project is worth doing.
The engine would then go into a Beetle for testing, Kuba's if he agrees
to see that it actually runs 13s.
