We went racing in England over the weekend and this was one of our friends. I'm hoping to get them to come to Poland this summer. We'll see.
Richie has run 10.5 before, but broke his gearbox on Sunday after this big wheelie.

This was the fastest pass ever made by a street legal Beetle in Europe.

Chris, what engine did the Beetle have?

The cabrio has a 2386cc T1 turbo engine- made over 400 HP
The 10.05 Bug has a 2366 T4 twin turbo with 911 heads made about 400 HP and has a 911 gearbox. It made about 400 HP a few months ago and there was talk of more power to come soon.
Both cars are hoping to achieve 9s this season

this one is only a 1776cc T1 and runs regular low 13s on slicks with a close ratio gearbox

Russel, the owner, doesn't like to spend money and doesn't like buying new parts. The turbos are from a junkyard (SaabX2) and so are the 911 heads. The parts inside the block are very much standard- block,crank,connecting rods were standard until recently (maybe still are).
The ignition system was new and so were the pistons and cylinders.
This is a car that is driven on the street, but the owner says it has too much power for the street. It can spin large street tyres from a cruise at 120kh/h.

You can all write in Polish, though the English is very good. I can read Polish, it's just that my spelling is terrible when I write.

You don't need to spend much or to have as much power as Russel for your Beetle to be fun and faster than most other cars on the road.
