The gearbox wouldn't be able to accept more torque more quickly by using a bigger clutch because it would break. The next step is to strengthen the gearbox and then give it a heavier clutch pressure plate. It will then run about 14.8, still on street tyres. While the gearbox is out, maybe a closer ratio third and fourth gear. It should then run mid 14s
From what I remember all the cars which went quicker than Paluch's had engines that were at least twice the size of Paluch's 1776. A 911 with a 3.6, a Merc with a 5.0, etc. There were so many cars with much bigger engines, Golf VR6, BMW 330, etc that were much slower.
Paluch's car was easily the oldest and easily the cheapest.
As far as the event goes, this was by far the best of the Drag race meetings I have been to in Poland, but the comentator and generally SSS still have much to learn about running a race meeting.

I also noticed that this year they have started to measure the first 60 feet. Paluch had a 2.19 60 foot time. A Beetle like Paluch's on street tyres should be running about 1.90-1.95. The difference is about .25 of a second. This difference at 60 feet always doubles by the end of the track. Half a second is the difference we could expect if we could get the clutch and gearbox to hold, maybe more with a better set of tyres.

A jak zamierzacie "wzmocnic" skrzynie? Sa jakies sposoby? Czy raczej wymiana?

pozdrawiam

PS Czy mozecie przedstawic liste modyfikacji tego garbka?

The gearbox is standard at the moment. It needs a stronger differential and a stronger side cover to stop the gearbox casing from flexing and to keep the differential inside the gearbox. If Paluch wanted to use a set of Drag slicks then a stonger first/second gear mainshaft (2500+zl) would also be necessary.
The gearbox is solidly mounted to the frame forks (widelce) and the frame forks are supported by the rear roll cage.
The engine is a 1776cc unit with -
Stadard crankcase cut for 90.5mm cylinders and drilled and tapped for full flow oil system
standard 69mm crankshaft
Scat forged connecting rods with SPS bolts
Scat C45 camshaft 296 X .480 inch lift (with 1.25 ratio rockers)
Scat cam followers
Scat Chro-moly pushrods
Mahle 90.5 pistons and cylinders
40mm intake X 37mm exhaust heads with twin Scat valve springs
Standard 1600cc clutch pressure plate with 4 puk disc
10.3:1 compression ratio
1.5 inch merged exhaust
Mechanical advance Pertronic distributor with coil and MSD ignition leads
Dellorto 40mm DRLA carbs with custom made 36mm venturii
This engine makes between 140 and 150 HP @ 6000 and pulls strongly from 3000rpm to about 7000rpm.

Również gratuluje przejazdu , miny ludzi na trybunach były bezcenne

Mam też pytanie o skrzynie, gdzie i czy w ogóle można kupić skrzynie która będzie w stanie przenieść powiedzmy 500NM ??

More information please. What is the weight of the car? What will it be used for? Is the engine turbocharged? If we are talking about street Beetles, then 500NM is more than you could possibly use. Even so, if you wish to do this the best options are 911 gearboxes or, to keep things VW, late T2 (about 1980). The T2 gearbox is heavier than a T1 , but much stronger and will hold 400NM in a Beetle in street use. For racing these gearboxes can be strengthened even more, but you will need about 15-20K zl for all the parts to build a full strength racing T2 gearbox. The negative aspect of using his gearbox is that it has a lazier shift than a Beetle gearbox.
The main problem with any gearbox is the rate at which torque is transfered via the clutch to the gearbox. The faster this is done the greater the risk of gearbox destruction.
