Jeżeli już bym usuwał czesc prowadnicy zaworu to w kanale dolotowym a w wydechowym zostawil bym bez zmian, ewentualnie troche obrobił materiał wokół .

I am not shy of saying that we have a whole shelf of stuff that we've destoyed :?

nie chciałbym tworzyć nowego tematu , właśnie obliczam sobie rożne opcje CR ( kompresja statyczna ) i DCR (kompresja dynamiczna) dla mojego silnika . Pytanie do praktyków:

Mr Browar- You asked a simple question, but unfortunately the answer is not so simple. The DCR we aircooled boys can run depends on so many things. As you pointed out, the fuel is one important aspect. Other important aspects are the total amount of power that the engine will make, the size of the engine and especially the cylinder size, the weight of the car, the gearing of the gearbox. You would need to build a different engine for a T2 than you would for a T1 for example. Another problem for us is that most of us use carbs and a distributor with points. If you set the DCR high, let's say 8.2 to one and get it perfectly tuned so that the AFR is perfect everywhere across the rev range, all you need is a blocked idle or main jet or the points to wear and the timing to change, to have major engine problems. This is the major reason why standard 1300/1600s, which have a very low DCR, can still live even though they have badly worn carbs and distributors that never get serviced, and tuned engines quickly die because many people treat them the same way that they did their old stock 1300s.

First - just Browar ;P
I know that this isn't easy question , also temperature of air act a role , there is many aspects .
But I was thinking about this more like normal garage tuning - thing that I can do myself , so was suspecting that people just say :
"hi I'm running 1300 double heads with polished chamber , engle w120 cam , CR 11 , DCR 8,3 , 009 . I'm running on 95 , no problem with detonation also on hot sunny day "

What I'm trying to do is :
1300 double heads with chamber & valves coated with ceramics thermal isolation , CR 10 , DCR about 8 what ignition I not decided yet , 4 yamaha cabs . Fresh air intake from outside .
My concerns is about that 8 DCR could be to high , with short gearbox , normal weight of beetle , street use.

of course we assume that carburettors aren't worn out . AFR & ignition is correctly set . Plugs are little bit colder then normal .

If it is going to be a 1300, then I have a few comments. Firstly, an Engle 120 is a BIG camshaft for a 1300 and the next is that you will have a tough time getting to 10:1 compression with a 1300. We built a 1300 with a Scat C35 last year and 9:1 compression and it has a powerband from 4000rpm to 6500rpm. I really wouldn't go bigger than an Engle 110/Scat C35 for a 1300 unless it is for a 500kg car (Formula V). Nice idea with the bike carbs :)

I can see that I must tell what I am going to build because hypothetical digressions have no sense .

Ok so :
Mouse 1200 cc engine with W100 cam , twin port heads ( 1300 AB ) ported , 29 cc chambers coated with ceramic . 4 bike cabs , one for each cylinder .

Basic idea was to made higher DCR I can with this setup without detonation. I was heading to DCR = 8 as safe option. I suspecting that RPM border will be somewhere near 5500 .

I am curios and in the meantime I will probably build this engine with single 1200 heads , ported , W100 cam and DCR also in 8 area .

How about idea , to put w110 cam in place of w100 into setup with twin port heads ? For race ( kjs , track day's , no drag ) It will be hard to make CR near 10. It could be necessary to change the shape and the volume of the chamber (welding ) in order to receive the appropriate compression without a lot of cutting work . Depending on combo 2000- 6000+rpm I think.

How do you think Cris ?
